Week 3 – Thursday 28 / Friday 29 July 2022

Coming up in Week 3 is our Track & Field Carnival, a great day for everyone to get involved in their house activities, have some fun and some will qualify to represent PBC at the District Track and Field competition.

This year, a new twist to the carnival, will see students being awarded with a raffle ticket every time they participate in a track or field event (on Friday). There will be a draw at the end of the day where we will be giving out lots of amazing prizes.

The main event will be Friday 29 July with the whole school participating in the either the track & field events or just coming along to earn house points and have some fun on the inflatables / obstacle activities. You are encouraged to wear your house colours as the first event will be a house parade around the track.

Friday is a compulsory school day, so the expectation is that everyone comes along and has a fun day.

There will be an opportunity to qualify in other events that do not take place on the Friday, during Week 3.

• Monday 25 July – 7.30am                        3000m (meet oval)

• Thursday 28 July – 7.30am                      1500m (meet oval)

• Thursday 28 July – 3.15pm                      200m / 400m Hurdles (meet oval)

• • Period 1 and 2 – Year 10/11/12 students have the opportunity to compete in the Javelin, Discus and Triple Jump (MUST sign up in Sports Hall Foyer to be release from lessons)

  • Period 3 and 4 – Year 7/8/9 students have the opportunity to compete in the Javelin, Discus and Triple Jump (MUST sign up in Sports Hall Foyer to be release from lessons)

For these events, you MUST sign up on the sheets outside the S block staffroom door (outside, opposite the oval) – Especially necessary for the Thursday events during school times so you will get excused from you timetabled lessons. (no sign up on the day)

For those students who wish to compete for the school at the district track and field champs (Week 5), they will need to express their interest to Mrs Hart during the carnival as the team will be selected that day and we have no time after this for alterations or additions.
