Please see www.griffith.edu.au/aptitude-engineering-assessment for more information or contact Mr Jones or Mr McDougall.
Year 11
Year 11 students are completing the first assessment item of Unit 2 in Week 2 of this term. The schedule of these exams has been published on the school website (https://pbc-shs.eq.edu.au/SupportAndResources/FormsAndDocuments/Documents/assessment-calendars-and-shutdown-timetables/yr11-shutdown-t3.pdf ). Please note that only Friday 26 July is a full shutdown.
As this is mid-unit assessment students will not be able to change subjects until the end of Unit 2 (end of Term 3). Students cannot change any subjects after this date under the new QCE rules.
Year 11s will have a full shutdown to complete Unit 2 assessment in Week 10 of Term 3 16 to 20 September.
Moving forward Year 11 students will commence the summative units for ATAR in Term 4 of this year and will have their first assessment for Unit 3 in the last week of Term 4. This will be a full shutdown in the week of 25 to 29 November.
In 2020 Year 12 and Year 10 students will have their exams and assessment due in the last week of each term (Week 10).
A reminder that all students must have passed a Unit of English and Maths by the end of Unit 2. Students that do not meet this requirement will have to complete a VET certificate that meets the requirements of the QCE. This course will have a cost of $250.
Diploma of Business
Any year 11 student wishing to enrol in a fast track Diploma of Business course should contact Mr McDougall. This course will be conducted at PBC within the school timetable and will commence in Term 4 2019 and will be completed by the end of Term 3 2020.
The course is conducted by Prestige Services Training at a cost of $1990. This is a very attractive and popular course due to the range of tertiary options that it provides to students. An information evening regarding this course will be scheduled later in Term 3.
