PBC Industry Awards Alliance Breakfast
In Week 4 the PBC Alliance held our annual Industry Awards Breakfast celebrating the success of our Pathways and VET programs at PBC and the number of students that get the opportunity to undertake apprenticeships, traineeships, work placements and VET diploma/certificate courses while attending school, preparing them for the life after high school.
Congratulations to:
VET Student of the Year, Taj Wood, Deborah Zale and Dempol Perry were the finalists with Demphol taking out the award.
Trainee of the Year, Brielle Pearse, Amy Hickling and Abigail Clinnick were the finalists with Amy taking out the award.
Apprentice of the Year, Finn Hay, Koen Hopson and Hugh Munro were the finalists with Finn taking out the award.
2022 Achievement Award went to Leah Hurren.
Indigenous Student of the Year was awarded to Jarrah Dick.
Business Appreciation Award was given to Portside Coffee, a great supporter of PBC students.
Thank you to Kim Little from Aurora Training Institute who awarded two of our students a full scholarship for a Diploma of Business each. Congratulations to the two scholarship winners, Jorja Bellis and Leah Hurren.
Thank you to our guest speakers Jessie and Bree from Village Roadshow Theme Parks, Kim Little of Aurora, Hayley Bell of ARE and Chris Capra, Alyce Bradford and Neil Mackay of PBC.
Thank you to Michael Hart MP for sponsoring our event and Laura Gerber MP for presenting the awards in Mr Hart's absence. Other supporters of this morning's event were Bidfood, Palm Beach Surf Club, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Ezi Office National Tweed.
A huge shout out to our Hospitality staff and students who did an amazing job preparing and serving breakfast to over 100 guests!
