Congratulations to Jye Miller who recently completed his Cert II Electrotechnology with Gold Coast Trades College.

Certificate II in Sampling & Measurement

Current Year 11 students, and Year 10 students who have selected a Science subject for 2023, have the opportunity to complete a Certificate II in Sampling and Measurement in early 2023. Students who have not used their VETis funding nor selected a VETis course on their SET Plan for 2023, can undertake the course free of charge with equipment included.

The course provides students with technical training in the skills of scientific sampling and measurement. It is designed to develop the knowledge and skills needed to work in the fields of science and engineering, including the resources and infrastructure industry e.g. taking field samples. The qualification has been developed with the support of scientists and large mining companies.

Training for students will take place from 17- 20 January 2023 (Tuesday to Friday of the last week of holidays) from 8:00am to 3:30pm in J block. There is a compulsory information session coming Friday Week 6 (11 November) in the Theatre, from 11:35am-12:10pm.

GCTC Try-a-Trade days

Gold Coast Trades College has limited spots remaining in their final trade taster days for 2023. These days do not use any funding and are free for students to attend. Expressions of interest are now open for current Years 9-11 students interested in participating. Students will attend the college on 14th & 21st Nov and participate in a variety of trade experiences such as building, automotive, electrotechnology, horticulture and painting. Time to enrol is running out so please see Mr Poirrier to express your interest a.s.a.p.
