House Update

PBC’s Got Talent

After 3 weeks of auditions and some amazing live semi-final performances PBC’s Got Talent 2022 culminated in a star-studded Grand Finale. We had a mixture of Junior and Senior students who wowed the judges and were met by applause from their peers. Grand Finalists included Year 7 student Rubi, Year 9 students Anika, Amaya & Isla, Year 11 students Imogen & Gloria and Year 12 students Ajna, Rohan & Deb. All students showed that PBC is in great hands when it comes to Creative Arts but there could be only one winner. After student and judges votes were collated the winner of PBC’s Got Talent for 2022 was crowned. Congratulations to Imogen Stewart! Her rendition of a Carrie Underwood classic had country music fans around the school rejoicing.

Mario Kart Switch Challenge

Our inaugural Nintendo Switch Mario Kart Challenge was held in Week 2 this term. Students from each house battled it out in the heats to demonstrate their gaming skills and clock the fastest time. The heats demonstrated a lot of hilarious moments with some students and staff never playing on a Nintendo Switch before. After some tough and competitive heats, four members from each house were selected to battle it out on the Friday. Heading into the final as favourite was Viking year 12 student, Dylan Bourke, who dominated and took out the top prize! Well done to all staff and students that earned points for their houses and to Dylan for being crowned the Inaugural Mario Kart champion.

Life Drawing

Week 4 saw a return of the interhouse life drawing competition for entrants to earn much needed points toward the House Cup Tally! A large number of students and teachers attended to demonstrate their artistic talents. Participants initially had 2 minutes to sketch their best effort of our life models, Mr Kennedy and Mr Johnstone, striking a pose. From these initial sketches Miss Maddocks had the hard task of selecting finalists. These talented finalists had ten minutes to reveal their artistic skill. After a lot of laughs and an amazing showcase of talent, the final four were selected by our judge.

1st – Hunter (Vikings) 2nd – Jessica (Phoenicians) 3rd – Asha (Spartans) 4th – Chanel (Athenians)

Congratulations to all our finalists and thank you to all the students and staff that turned up to support their house.
