Courses commencing in Term 4 2022

Gold Coast Trades College, TAFE, and other providers, have a number of Term 4 openings for Year 11 students who have not yet used their VETis funding.

• Certificate II Plumbing (this is a new course offering at GCTC)
• Certificate I Construction
• Certificate II Electrotechnology
• Certificate II Automotive

Students commencing Year 11 in 2023

It’s already time for interested Year 10 students to start thinking about VET certificate options for 2023. Gold Coast Trades College is already advertising their 2023 course offerings. Courses which are open for enrolment include:

• Cert II Electrotechnology
• Cert I Construction
• Cert II Automotive
• Cert II Plumbing
• Cert I Construction (Surfboard Shaping)
• Cert II Horticulture

Note: Students who enrol in a VET certificate course with GCTC attend their training facility in Currumbin one school day per week. Students undertake external VET courses in addition to their timetabled senior subjects.

GCTC Try-a-Trade days

Gold Coast Trades College has opened a number of spots for their trade taster days. These days do not use any funding and are free for students to attend.

Expressions of interest are now open for Years 9-12 students interested in participating. Students will attend the college on Monday 18 & 25 July and participate in a variety of trade experiences such as building, automotive, electrotechnology, horticulture and painting. Time to enrol is running out so please see Mr Poirrier to express your interest.
