Student Leaders Celebration 2022

Our Senior Student Council were fortunate enough to be invited along to the 2022 School Leaders Celebration at HOTA last week. This event connects the student leadership teams from many of our Gold Coast schools, allowing our wonderful leaders to network with like-minded leaders from across the region. The event contained key note speeches from Mayor Tom Tate and all Principals introduced their students. We are so proud of our School Captains, Vice-Captains and Prefects who represent our student voice every single day – they are doing remarkable things this year for our proud school.

Girls Rugby League

For the first time in a couple of years, PBC have entered a team in the Karyn Murphy Cup.

It's a Girls Rugby League comp run out of school hours by the Titans.

As part of our prep, we trained with Titans Strength and Conditioner Steve Hooper, and met current Titans halfback and PBC Alumni, Toby Sexton.

To field a full team, we have been fortunate to join forces with another school, St Joseph's Coomera, and the girls came up with the name PB Joeys.

Our very first game was against an experienced Keebra Park team, and while we didn't win, we showed incredible heart in defence and made some great breaks. The girls met just 20 minutes before the game, getting along very quickly and making some great combinations of the field.

We're counting down to the next game already!

International Homestay Families Needed

Got a spare room? Ever thought of being a Homestay host? Homestay families come in all shapes and sizes... they are married couples with or without kids, singles, singles with kids and grandparents too. Everyone has an opportunity to play a part in sharing their life, home and provide memories and cultural experiences to an international high school student.

Get paid more than $320 a week caring for one of our International high school students in your home.

PBC is due to welcome International students back on campus later this year and we are looking for Homestay families. Please contact Corinne Vanput at PBC for more information at cvanp1@eq.edu.au. Find out more http://bit.ly/eqi-homestay-host
