I believe that whoever coined the term ‘Every Day Counts’ must have been a mathematics teacher. Consider the mathematics curriculum as bricks; each year we lay down a new layer, building on prior knowledge. Absences are missing bricks – next year the foundation to support it won’t be as strong. Our teachers work diligently to ensure every math lesson is purposeful and supports the development numeracy capability.Please prompt your child to do a quick stocktake of their equipment. Whether it be needing new notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers or a calculator your child will not be as successful as they could be if they were properly prepared for each lesson.
This term Year 7, 8 and 9 mainstream mathematics assessment will consist of an exam. Year 8 students will also have an assignment. Please see below for assessment due dates:
