Senior Secondary Update

Welcome back to Term 2 for both our Senior School students and parents. Fingers crossed this will be a Term with minimal unforeseen interruptions, allowing all of our students the time to invest in their studies and the range of sporting, artistic and extra-curricular opportunities that commence this Term. We'd like to acknowledge firstly the outstanding contributions of our community in recent ANZAC remembrance events, including the wonderful lead of our Student Leaders in both our school ceremony, the Currumbin Dawn Service, the mid-morning march and the Currumbin RSL Mid-Morning Service.

Parent Teacher Interviews

This week an email will be sent to all parents regarding booking for the upcoming Parent Teacher Interviews, held across Tuesday 10 - Thursday 12 May. These interviews provide an essential opportunity for students and parents to gain direct feedback from teachers on how they can improve and maintain their academic grades. Please take the opportunity, regardless of your child's year level, to make a booking where possible and meet your child's teachers.

Report Cards

  • Year 11 students received their report card late last term, with performance monitoring and mentoring having commenced. Year 11 students who are on an ATAR pathway should expect conversations regarding their academic progress to increase, whilst students who are not passing 5/6 subjects will start having conversations regarding their post-compulsory schooling pathway.
  • Year 10 and Year 12 report cards will be released at the start of week 3- Tuesday 3 May. Year 10 students are reminded that it is their results in their Semester 1 reports that will determine the range of subjects available to them through the upcoming SETPlan process.

Year 12 First Aid and Safety course

Students that registered for the First Aid and Safety course on 6 May will have been emailed the their log in details to complete the online theory modules. These modules need to be completed by 2 May for students to attend the practical training day on 6 May.

Another course has been scheduled for August. This is a very useful qualification and all students that have not completed these qualifications are encouraged to complete the course. This course has a cost of $75 and will attain 2 QCE points. Students can register by contacting Ms Golding  in the library (jgold61@eq.edu.au)
