International Homestay Families Needed

Got a spare room? Ever thought of being a Homestay host? Homestay families come in all shapes and sizes... they are married couples with or without kids, singles, singles with kids and grandparents too. Everyone has an opportunity to play a part in sharing their life, home and provide memories and cultural experiences to an international high school student.

Get paid more than $320 a week caring for one of our International high school students in your home.

Have your child's school memories captured forever. Your student should have bought home their unique MSP Photography envelope for you to order school photos. If you haven't received an envelope or need an extra one please collect one from Student Services or the front reception office.

  • Place your order before 4 March 2022 to avoid any late fees
  • Ordering online using your child's Unique Shoot Key (on their envelope) is the easiest, safest and most secure way to order. If you don't know their Unique Shoot Key please contact MSP on 07 5668 9110.
  • If enclosing payment inside an envelope, please ensure the correct money is provided as no change is given. Cash, cheques and money orders are all acceptable.
  • Don't seal envelopes inside each other. You can pay for all children in one envelope, however each child needs to hand in their own envelope on Photo Day to the photographer. Please indicate on the child's envelope that contains all sibling payments, the names of the children you are paying for.
  • All students whether ordering photos or not, need to hand in their photo envolope to the photographer on photo day. This is how your student is identified to the photographer. 
  • Any queries, please feel free to contact MSP at admin.gcnr@msp.com.au or tel: 07 5668 9110.
  • On photo day students will need to be in their blue formal uniform and adhere to the PBC Uniform Code.
  • On photo day, their teacher will take them to the Theatre for their photo at the scheduled time.

PBC is holding an information night on the selective entry process for our Excellence Programs. You will find out what our programs offer and what is required to submit an application.

  • Adults that attend must be fully vaccinated.
  • Masks are to be worn until seated.
  • Students are welcome but not required.
  • This event will be livestreamed via our Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
  • Information will be uploaded to our website on 3 March.

Study Sessions for Senior Students

This year as part of the Study Skills program to support senior students, Griffith University are presenting online sessions on a Monday afternoon from 2:15- 3:00pm. These sessions are open to PBC Year 11 and 12 students.

The sessions are for Year 11 and 12 students and will have different content on various weeks to help support students to achieve their best in their final years of schooling. Students are highly encouraged to attend by accessing the sessions via a link that will be emailed to them.

Session 1: Thrive and Survive Senior school.

When: Monday 14 February
Who: All Year 11 and 12 students

Session 2: Study Skills and Time management

When: Monday 21 February
Who: All Year 11 and 12 students

Session 3: Resilience

When: Monday 28 February
Who: All Year 11 students only

Attention Year 12 students! PBC is offering you FREE access to high level academic virtual tutoring this year. As part of an initiative of the Gold Coast Secondary Principals’ Alliance, and jointly funded by Study Gold Coast, you will be able to join specialised masterclasses each week over Term 1, 2 & 3 this year in the subjects of mathematics methods, chemistry or physics. Scan the QR code to self-register for these sessions or speak to your subject teacher to find out more. Join as many as you want or watch the tutorials back at a later date. Any student who participates will also be invited to a free school holiday consolidation workshops in the June July school holidays delivered by Griffith University.

From Weeks 3-9:

Growing Good Humans

This year, we are very pleased to once again be rolling out the Growing Good Humans program throughout our school, commencing with the Year 12 cohort. We are pleased to offer all Year 12 students an opportunity to engage with a series of workshops, to be delivered in the form of a whole-day incursion on Tuesday 15 February. It is our intent that these workshops be informative, supportive and respectfully cover topics relevant to our young people at this stage of their lives.

Each student will participate in 3 x 90-minute workshops during the day:

This day remains a compulsory school day for all Year 12 students and will remain normal school hours. Please note normal academic classes will be cancelled to accommodate this incursion. We know that it will provide a wonderful opportunity for the Class of 2022 to explore a range of workshops aimed at supporting them to be the best possible versions of themselves.
