Film, Television & New Media Showcase

PBC Media students and families and friends attended the Film, Tv and New Media Showcase in the Theatre on Friday night. The audience were treated to some outstanding work of our students! The evening was hosted by our Senior students. Many thanks to Mr Tom Pasley and Mr Cameron Sarasola who organised the evening. Popcorn and lollies were enjoyed by all. We need to roll out the red carpet next year!

Arts Awards Evening

The PBC Arts community were excited to welcome 35 of our outstanding artists to attend the Arts Awards Evening last Thursday. We hosted our artists and their families from Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Art, Media and Instrumental Music. The guests were treated to an afternoon of twilight Music performances and drinks and nibbles in the grassed area outside the theatre before we entered the theatre for the awards ceremony and live performances from our outstanding artists category.

We were extremely honoured to induct PBC Alumni student Courtney Monsma as our Arts Ambassador for 2022. Courtney was interviewed on stage and then performed for us live! We are so very excited to have hosted an international star and look forward to seeing her perform as Anna in the hit Musical Frozen when it tours Brisbane in February 2022.

Visual Arts Excellence

The State School’s Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art were awarded recently at The Walls Gallery at Miami. Over 500 pieces of Art were entered in the competition from all over the state, and 3 PBC students received 3 of the 8 Excellence Awards for the region, and 1 student received a Commendation.

Ryan Thwaite, Allie Baldwin and Gabriella Kilgariff all received the coveted Excellence Awards for their pieces, and Neroli Light-Law received a commendation. The most exciting part, is that Ryan, Allie and Gabriella’s pieces will be exhibited at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art! The first time PBC has had pieces exhibited at the State gallery! Congratulations!
