Junior Secondary Update

Student Leadership

At PBC, we view every child as having leadership potential. Students who display initiative, who are positive role models to others and who are willing to make a positive difference in their school and community are indeed leaders of our school.

Thank you to the parents who encouraged their students to apply for a leadership position. We hope that all leadership aspirants will find ways in the coming year to both contribute to PBC and to develop their leadership potential.

Finishing the Year Well

We are more than half-way through the term! Please encourage your child to maintain clear routines around homework, study, sleep and exercise, as we prepare for the final weeks and exams.

Our next significant events are our Year 9 Graduation Assembly on Thursday 1 December following the Year 9 Dance the evening prior.

The other event we are really looking forward to is welcoming our incoming Year 7s on Monday 6 December for our annual Transition Day. Only students who have enrolled at PBC for 2022 will be able to attend on the day. I look forward to meeting new and existing parents on that day. More details have been sent to parents recently.

Other highlights of the last two weeks include Year 7 Day Camp, Year 8 Camp and Year 9’s going on work experience. Once assessment is completed there will be a range of workshops for students aimed to develop skills to improve success for each student next year along with some fun activities such as CARE carnival on Friday 3 December.

Last 10 days

In Junior Secondary we have a variety of alternate activities that students will be accessing during the last 10 days of school. In Week 9, students will be in involved in lessons that focus of their wellbeing, leadership, problem solving and also building skills in time management by learning about effective ways to use the Microsoft outlook calendar and tasks, including typing practice. In Week 10, the Year 7s have a Day camp at Tallebudgera beach school, the Year 8s are on a 3 day survivor camp at Camp Warrawee and the Year 9s are on work experience for the whole week. Please return permission notes for the camps (including money paid) or expression of interest forms for work experience to D block student services.
