Queensland Ethics Olympiad

On Friday, Palm Beach achieved 2nd place in the Queensland Ethics Olympiad held at St Peters College in Brisbane, a major achievement competing against 15 schools from all over Queensland. This was also PBCs inaugural entry into the prestigious event.  Students discussed and debated the ethics and practicality of the following topics:

  • Private money in academia
  • China's social credit system
  • Data violence
  • De-extinction
  • Drone wars

Students competed up until the lunch break, then team averages were calculated. The two top scoring teams then went head to head in the final - PBC coming a close 2nd with 2 points difference. In the Queensland philosophy circle, PBC has a well-earned reputation for excellence.

LOcREaDO Dance Program

Year 10 Dance Excellence students Tiani Cashel-Patterson and Mia Lowe successfully auditioned for the LOcREaDO Dance Program earlier this year and have been rehearsing in Brisbane each Sunday. The girls will be performing with the program in their concert ‘AFFINITY’ at QUT Gardens Theatre on 12 June. Good luck girls!
