Dear Parents/Caregivers,

The last few school weeks have seen us adjust school operations again to comply with the latest Public Health Directives and Border Closure.  Currently we have 40 school staff in total working from home in NSW with over 30 teachers delivering their lessons via Teams with another teacher physically in the classroom to assist with lesson delivery. Most teachers are having to prepare two types of lessons to support both the QLD and NSW students to ensure that lesson delivery continues to close as normal as possible. Although Teams lessons are being offered to the NSW students, QLD students should still be coming to school every day and not opting to learn from home.

The school is in regular communication with the QCAA about Year 12 ATAR assessments and the impact that any ongoing border closure may have on students. The Senior Secondary team will send home information to the students who are residing in NSW about preparation for mock exams, external exams and assessments closer to the actual sitting dates if the border remains closed. 

With the easing of a number of Covid restrictions this week, the school is now attempting to re-schedule a number of school events such as Optima Award Assemblies, NAIDOC Day, Sports Excellence finals and performing arts culminating activities. School excursions, assemblies, off-site extra-curricular activities and third party educational providers all return this week.
