Gold Coast Schools Mountain Bike Titles

After a year of turmoil the school mountain biking team finally had their first competition last Friday 30 October. The Gold Coast Schools titles were conducted at the Nerang Mountain Bike Precinct with 150 competitors from 22 different schools. Competitors were able to complete the three different tracks up to five times posting the fastest time possible with the combined best time from these tracks becoming their overall time and determining their position. PBC fielded a strong team of 28 riders and were consistently placed in the top ten across the different age groups, which lead to the winning of the Overall Champion School Point Score for the second year in a row. All of our students showed great perseverance in very hot conditions with some of the outstanding results being Ethan Quirk 3^rd in a field of 20 Yr 11/12 boys, Daniel Bray 4^th in a field of 42 Yr 9/10 boys and  Billy Wadwell placing 3^rd in a huge field of 70 Yr 7/8/boys.  The mountain bike team continues to grow and improve, in 2021 we are looking forward to regaining the momentum lost by the Covid-19 break this year. The team is also looking to increase the female participation in 2021, we provide a supportive environment for all riders with an emphasis on enjoyment and skill development at all levels.
