Sports Excellence Update
AFL
The AFL Sports Excellence Leaders from all 4 of PBC’s teams in 2019 (Junior Girls, Senior Girls, Junior Boys and Senior Boys) were involved in a leadership workshop conducted by renowned Leadership experts, Leading Teams (a PBC Alliance partner), in preparation for the upcoming season. Leading Teams have long been used by elite AFL clubs with considerable success, most premiership teams over the last 20 years have had their leadership models established by Leading Teams.
Aaron Rogers, a former AFL player and Development coach, facilitated the first session on 13 March for the students from each team to help implement the trademarks, standards and behaviours that PBC’s AFL teams will work by in 2019.
Each of the leaders contributed strongly throughout the session and are looking forward to using new skills and strategies to keep driving our Sports Excellence teams to higher achievements.
Follow up sessions will ensure that each leader is accountable throughout 2019 and continues to develop into a good leader and person.
