PBC Surfers make the most of Interrupted Competition Schedule

With multiple events in 2020 placed on standby and then 1 by 1 cancelled throughout the year, PBC surfers have revelled in the limited opportunity to test their heat craft in regional and state competitions in the past month.

Jackson Graham and Sai Maniwa have won the PBC Open Surfing Male and Female Titles. Their names will go on the Perpetual trophy along a list of past winners some of which have gone on to have success on the world stage.

The Oceanic Zone and South Coast regional school selection events have set up a strong platform for PBC dominance with 19 of the 24 students selected as representives at the up coming QLD school titles on the Sunshine Coast in Week 9 of Term 3. PBC also completed a clean sweep of the M.R. Shield division, winning all 4 age groups showing the great depth of talent in the program.

Surfing Qld have also completed their state rounds and Jackson Graham, Matt Boyle, Jordy Halford and Rico Haybittle have all emerged as State Champions in their respective divisions. Raya Campbell, Tom Whitpaine and Riley Munro (NSW) have also gained state selection. These students will now wait, fingers crossed, in hope that the scheduled Australian Junior Titles can also go ahead in December at North Stradbroke Island.
