Executive Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As we pass the half way point in the term, there has been a lot of media attention about QLD/NSW border restrictions and possible school closures. At this stage, neither of these events are scheduled to occur. It is my belief that individual schools would only close if a student or staff member was identified as attending school whilst being COVID-19 positive. In this case, the school would shut for 48 to 72 hours to allow for a deep clean. In preparation for a short term closure, students should keep their technological devices and appropriate learning materials in their possession as a shut down would happen with very limited notice.Last week witnessed the Year 10 students attend an afterhours school event to assist them to make informed decisions about their senior secondary educational pathway. The school made significant changes to the usual processes to keep us COVID-19 compliant. Other upcoming events that we are planning to host to try to keep the school year as normal as possible include The School Musical - All Shook Up, Restaurant Week and the PBC Alliance Breakfast. The events will be restricted in size and COVID-19 compliant so please be aware of the limited number of tickets available for these events.
The House and Care initiative of Staff v Students Game Week was last week. Monday witnessed a 2-2 soccer draw. On Tuesday the Open Touch Girls were ahead 3-2 at halftime before eventually going down 8-5. Basketball on Wednesday saw the teachers win 39-25 before the Open Girls Netballers defeated the staff on Thursday 29-13.
