Starting that Conversation
Workshop presented by Tommy Herschell and Find Your Feet
This 2 hour workshop cracks the whip on where we as men, are at when it comes to telling our story. It musters our ability to tell our mates how it really is, and sends us home with a new take on what it means to “start that conversation”.
The workshop follows on from Tom’s amazing work here at PBC with our Growing Good Men and is open to guys young and old from 13 years and upward. Fathers, sons, grandfathers, uncles, coaches or any interested males are welcome.
To RSVP email your details (names of all coming/contact number/email address) to events@pbc-shs.eq.edu.au. Please put Fellas Workshop in the subject of the email.
COVID-19 restrictions are in place for this event, therefore:
- Please RSVP by email by Wednesday 12 August to events@pbc-shs.eq.edu.au.
- Please state “Fellas Workshop” in the subject line
- Social distancing and strict hygiene practices will apply

Senior Music Excellence Showcase
Year 12 2020 - Pathways Information Session
In Senior Secondary we strive for our students to achieve the best possible results to position them to succeed in their preferred post-school pathway. Post-school pathways for our 2020 Year 12 graduates will be diverse.
As such, please be aware of our upcoming Year 12 Senior Information Session in Week 5 of this term. This assembly and the presence of post-school providers will provide students with extensive information around pathways within Education and Training (University, TAFE, and Private institutions) and Employment Support. This will present opportunities to discuss entry requirements, scholarship options etc.
Also delivered will be information and assistance regarding QTAC tertiary applications.
Please be aware that due to current COVID-19 restrictions, parents can attend but numbers are extremely limited. Should you wish to attend, please ensure you RSVP by the below date and please only 1 member per family.
Please note that the presentation from faculty staff will be filmed and uploaded to the PBC Website and social media channels for families to access and discuss.
When: Tuesday 11 August
Format: 1:55pm (period 4) - Presentation for students in the Hall
2:30-4:00pm - External provider EXPO in the Library

Year 11 2021 - Senior Schooling Information Evening
Year 10 students have now reached the point in their Senior Schooling where we are asking them to plan their pathway, including subjects, for Year 11 and 12. All Year 10 students will be required to develop a Student Education and Training Plan (SET Plan).
To help in making the best possible choices we invite you and your child to participate in an information evening for all Year 10 students and families. The aim of the evening will be for you to receive essential information on Senior Pathways as well as have the opportunity to tour our faculties and speak to subject teachers about the subjects on offer. In addition, a variety of representatives including Griffith University, Southern Cross University, Gold Coast TAFE, Gold Coast Trades College and Prestige Training Services will be available to answer any questions you have regarding a wide range of certificates and courses on offer.
When: Tuesday 11 August
Format: Presentation in the Hall followed by a Subject Fair in the Library Precinct
RSVP: It is essential that RSVP's be emailed to events@pbc-shs.eq.edu.au so that we can ensure compliance with Covid-19 restrictions. We must limit the number attending so we ask that only one parent from each family attend with their student. Please RSVP to events@pbc-shs.eq.edu.au by Friday 7 August stating SETPlan Info Session in the Subject, include the names of all attending and a contact number.
Year 11 2021 - SET Plan Interviews
Following on from the above information session each student is required to complete and sign a Student Education Training Plan (SETP). Students should bring a draft copy of their pre-populated SETPlan Form to the interview. This is verified through an interview process, where students and parents meet with an assigned member of the Senior School team for a one-on-one consultation about the student’s subject selections and pathway.
When: Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 August 2020
Format: 15min interview, to be scheduled between 2:00-6:30pm
Where: Various rooms at PBC
RSVP: Interviews must be booked through the school website, with a link on the homepage, from 9:00am on Monday 3 August.
It is important to enter Year 11 with an appropriate course of study and a positive plan based on sound advice. Any questions or comments can be directed to Peter Hughes by contacting the Senior School office.
