IT News

IT_News_Copy_.jpgPBC’s One2One Program

With almost all Year 7 students participating in the PBC One2One program students are able to access a wider range of resources than ever before. The new IT platform of technology is enabling teachers to create a wider variety of learning experiences as their students have a reliable and predictable computing device.

If you are a parent/caregiver of a child in Year 7 who is not already in the program, there is still time to participate and pick up a brand new worry free computer.  Contact the Middle School office for a copy of the One2One Learning Program Contract.

Students are doing a wonderful job caring for their computer by ensuring that they have a protective case and are keeping their computer out of harm’s way.  Just a reminder if you haven’t already, to purchase a protective case for your child’s laptop. Also, contact your home insurer to have the new device added onto your policy for additional protection.

This week we have welcomed Miss Lucy Johnstone onto the IT team, Lucy will be the “face” of our student service desk and will be able to assist students with their One2One enquires, network issues including Daymap, and will be providing general assistance. Welcome Lucy!

Finally, IT staff are available to provide computer assistance before and after school as well as lunch times, but not during class time.  The IT Office is located in E block.

Tip of the Week!

Select the default font YOU like to use, not the default font Word wants you to use

Don’t like Calibri or Cambria? Prefer Arial to Times New Roman, or like the modern look of Century Gothic? The best part about Microsoft Word is you can choose the default font — this command differs by version, but the most reliable way is to click Font, select the attributes you want, and then click Default.
