2019 Optima Yearbook
The 2019 Optima Yearbooks have arrived! This fantastic Yearbook is a wonderful and colourful magazine jam packed with loads of photos and articles from PBC students in all year levels during 2019. If you have pre-ordered your copy please ask your student to collect it from Student Services. If you havent pre-ordered and would like a copy they are available from Students Services for $30. Be quick, numbers are limited.
Gold Coast Junior Council 2019
Congratulations to Hamish Munro and Jaime Pryor for representing PBC with distinction at the Gold Coast Junior Council program this year. Both students displayed great leadership skills throughout the year and devoted significant amounts of time to activities that benefit and promote the youth of our community. Hamish was elected as a member of the executive committee for the year and Jaime was always on hand to assist the committee and be an enthusiastic volunteer at key GCJC events. Congratulations and thank-you for representing PBC with pride.
International Students Visit Cook Island
Recently a group of international students from PBC had the opportunity to visit Cook Island just of the coast at Tweed Heads. The students spent several hours snorkelling in the beautiful shallow waters off the island. They saw a whale and its calf resting in the protected waters, dolphins, a variety of marine life including
Ethics Olympiad
Palm Beach Currumbin SHS competed for the first time in the Middle School Ethics Olympiad held at The Southport School taking out third place. Over 80 students and 16 schools from the Gold Coast and Brisbane took part in the event. Students spent the day discussing ethics, the right course of action, in a variety of scenarios.

Year 7 Camp
Year 7s have the opportunity to enjoy an end of year camp at Midginbil Hill. The RSVP date has been extended. If your Year 7 student would like to attend camp please let Mr Cameron Williams, Year 7 Coordinator know and submit forms to Student Services. This is sure to be a wonderful experience for all the students.
Year 8 Camp
Year 8s also have a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an end of year camp at Camp Warrawee. The RSVP date has been extended. If your Year 8 student would like to attend camp please let Mr Ryan Jesser, Year 8 Coordinator know and submit forms to Student Services. This is sure to be a fun experience for all the students.
Year 9 Celebration Dance
The PBC Year 9 Celebration Dance is a fun party for our Year 9 Students to top off a great year and mark the finish of their middle school years. There will be plenty of dancing and fun to be had while reminiscing the past three years. Get you tickets from Student Services and secure your spot today!

Container Deposit Scheme
Palm Beach Currumbin State High students have many eco-projects on the go and need your help to continue their great work. You can help by bringing along your recyclable containers to PBC on any Wednesday. Staff will be at the Oval entrance on Thrower Drive from 7-9am to take your containers off your hands. PBC will then send them on for recycling and all money raised goes 100% into funding our student-driven eco-projects.
Local businesses, residents, students and staff are all welcome to donate. Containers can be received in any sort of bag/box. We have free envirobags available for you to take to collect your next load of eligible containers in.
If you can't make it to the drop off you can also still donate your containers to PBC at your local container deposit centre by using the code #C10051453. Yearbook 2019!
Be there on Day 1, 2020
Attending every day of school is important to ensure students have the very best start in life and learning. Please phone, email or visit our school before Tuesday 28 January, 2020 to let us know if your child will not be at school on Day 1 of Term 1, 2020.
If your student is leaving PBC in Term 4 or not returning in 2020, please contact
Administration - 5525 9350 or email admin@pbc-shs.eq.edu.au. We will then provide Leaving forms by email or your student is welcome to collect them at Front Reception
