Sports Awards Night 2019

Over 270 people attended PBC’s Sports Awards Night at The Currumbin RSL to celebrate the success of teams and individuals.

State championship teams in junior boys and girls AFL, Kayaking, Surf league and the U19 Boys MR Shield (Surfing) highlighted what has been a successful year in team sport.

Individually PBC students once again performed admirably across a wide range of sports. Overall The REDS celebrated seventy seven Queensland representatives with twenty five of these students going on to either medal at an Australian title or be selected in an Australian team.

Students also got the opportunity to hear from our guest speakers Ali Day and Tom Dearden about what it takes to succeed in the tough world of professional sport.

Finally congratulations to our four sportspeople of the year.

Junior Sportsman of the Year – Jed Walter (AFL)

Junior Sportswomen of the Year – Aspen Anderson (Triathlon, X Country, Surf league and Aquathlon)

Senior Sportswomen of the Year – Chaise Richardson (Kayaking)

Senior Sportsmen of the Year – Toby Sexton (Rugby League).

Vicki Wilson Shield - Netball

Congratulations to the PBCs Junior netball team who placed 3rd in the 2019 State Championships. Vicki Wilson Shield is the premier school netball competition, endorsed by Netball Queensland, and has the highest participation with both public and private schools, for girls in Years 7, 8 and 9, in QLD.
