Hospitality - Restaurant Nights

The nights of the Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 October saw the graduating year 12 Certificate III Hospitality class mentoring the Year 11 Certificate II Kitchen Operations class to deliver yet another outstanding Restaurant Week event. This year is the second such event to be held, which has been meet by parents and the local community with outstanding support resulting in the students catering for 120 customers over the two nights. Links to industry have been established through suppliers such as Jack Sprat Butchery, Pacific Wholesale Fruit and Vegetables and Tasman Star Seafoods, who each provided outstanding products for the students to highlight on their menu.

Throughout the Restaurant Week event, the students have been praised for their outstanding service skills and their ability to meet various customer requests, and the dishes from the menu described as flavoursome, well portioned and consistently presented.

Many students from the Certificate Program, have been offered work in the hospitality field by local employers such as Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, as they have shown outstanding skills in all of the varied functions they have catered and served this year, including PBC’s Gala Dinner, the Local Chaplin’s Annual Fundraiser, the PBC Alliance Breakfasts, PBC Drama and Music Excellence nights amongst other events this year.

The Hospitality students and staff would like to encourage you to keep your eye open for the next event catered by the Hospitality team, keeping October 2020 free for the next Restaurant Week.
