Rugby League Excellence

Two of our PBC Year 11 Sports Excellence students Troy Duckett and Tylee Donovan took part in the 2019 Koori Knockout Rugby League Championships held in Tuggerah on the Central Coast of NSW. Both played in the U17 Division for the Kempsey Sharks team.

Troy in Fullback and Tylee in the Centres, the team had a successful first day to defeat both Koori Brothers United 28 - 0 and 2829 CAB Next Gen Coonamble 24 - 0 and progress to the semi-finals. Two days later their semi was a much tougher battle against the also undefeated Wijadjuri United, however the boys got a well-earned victory winning 20 - 12 to progress the Grand Final.

Going in as under dogs against a quality Western Koori Eels side the Kempsey Sharks produced an unbelievable upset to win the game 12-10 and become 2019 Under 17s Koori Knockout Champions.
