Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome back to term 4. It is a busy time of year with Unit 3 commencing for our Year 11 students. Unit 3 is the first of the units of work that will count towards a student’s ATAR score at the end of Year 12. Our Year 12 students have four weeks of school lessons to go prior to their end of year exams. On Wednesday we had Snr Constable Kurt Foessel address the Year 12s about Schoolies Week in addition to our School Nurse presenting on a number of related topics. The Year 9 students are busy finding, or have already have found a career that interests them as they prepare to undertake Work Experience late in the term. All four AFL teams play in the state finals next Friday and Sunday. The Visual Arts students had a gallery night last week.Previously I have made students and parents aware that the Department of Transport / Translink were going to start enforcing students either showing their bus pass or Go Card when catching the bus. On Tuesday we had a team of Transport Inspectors at the school in the afternoon to check that students had the correct pass. It is our understanding that this event was to gauge the levels of student compliance and to issue warnings. It is also our understanding that future visits from the team of inspectors will be more about enforcement. Please remind your children that they need either a bus pass or Go Card to catch a bus.
