Executive Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Cargivers,

Capra_Chris_Copy_.jpgAs term 3 comes to a close this week, the school does not slow down.  Monday night will see Senior Music Excellence students perform and our Touch Football students have their high level championships later in the week. Many senior students have finished their exams, Year 11 has exams this week and the junior secondary students are busy with assignment work and their exams.

Term 4 commences on Tuesday 8 October with Unit 3 starting (first of the summative units) for Year 11 students. Year 12s prepare for their end of year exams, formal and graduation. It is awards season with the school having seventeen night award / presentation / performance functions across the first six weeks of Term 4. The primary school students in Year 6 commence their transition activities into the school.

The GCCC have completed their road and footpath widening works on Thrower Drive. The GCCC have done a great job in managing the projects around school peak busy times and have been very consultative about the works schedule and logistics as they have completed the project. The Council were also responsive in installing disabled parking out the front of the school. Whilst highlighting traffic improvements in the area, Cr Daphne McDonald has written to the school to explain that our request for pedestrian crossing on Thrower Drive (Salk Oval) to be replaced with traffic lights has been escalated to the Federal Blackspot Funding Program.

With holidays commencing on the weekend I would like to wish all our students, parents and staff who volunteer their time as Surf Lifesavers all the best and for a quiet start to the season.

Regards,

Chris Capra
Executive Principal
