Junior Secondary Update

Congratulations to all students who have represented PBC Term 3 in the arts, sports, academically and via community service opportunities. For Year 7 students we look forward to celebrating those individuals specifically at our Term 4 OPTIMA Awards on 24th October and for all students our major celebration is our end of year Junior Secondary Awards Night on 4th November.

YEAR 9 WORK EXPERIENCE

We wish our Year 9 students all the best as they embark on a week of work experience across a range of workplaces and industries in Week 10. This opportunity offers students a range of skills in a variety of areas and bodes them well for future employment and industry experience. Good luck to all students and thanks to those workplaces who have supported this program. We have had a larger number of students getting their paperwork in on time and fully participating this year. Thank you for working with us on this process which will have your child covered with insurance should anything go wrong during work experience.

National Science Week

National Science Week activities were a success and students had plenty of fun.

The big winners were:

  • Science Week Winner – Annalia
  • Insta Comp – Anastasia
  • Escape Room – Koa, Otis, Frankie, Rio & Allan
  • Class Comp – Tyla Hart’s care class

Principles for Inclusion Vision for the next four years

Students engaged with the 10 principles of Inclusive Education mid-term. 653 students responded. Their results are below.

The collective wisdom including staff and parent voice collected at a school council forum in Term 2 sees us focusing on these four principles over the next four years.

  • Classwork and assessment is changed for students depending on their needs.
  • Everyone feels welcome and safe at PBC.
  • Staff at PBC are skilled and confident in working with students with needs.
  • Key transitions are supported.

Can I thank everyone who participated in this process.

The draft vision statement:

PBC will be a welcoming community of learners, where staff confidently respond to diverse needs, deliver accessible curriculum and support effective transitions.

Junior Secondary Academic Reports

Congratulations to our junior students on another great term.

Parents/Carers will be emailed the Term 3 progress report on the last day of term.
