Senior Secondary Update

Year 10

IG_TILE_REMINDER.png

Year 10 students have now reached the point in their Senior Schooling where we are asking them to plan their pathway, including subjects, for Year 11 and 12. This is called SET Planning.

Families have now received their invitations to attend an information evening for all Year 10 students entering Year 11 in 2025. The aim of the evening is to receive essential information on Senior Pathways as well as have the opportunity to tour our faculties and speak directly to subject teachers about the subjects on offer. In addition, a variety of representatives including Griffith Uni, Southern Cross Uni, Gold Coast TAFE, Gold Coast Trades College and Prestige Training Services will be available to answer any questions you have regarding a wide range of certificates and courses on offer.

Please monitor your emails as a range of resources will be emailed to year 10 parents and students in the coming weeks.

Year 12

FUTURES_EXPO_STORY_1_.jpg
  • It is certainly a busy time for Year 12s with the finalisation of their third internal assessment item (IA3) and preparations for External assessment in General subjects and IA4 Applied subjects.
  • Year 12 General Maths and Math Methods students will have their third internal exam during the week commencing July 29.
  • Year 12's will be sent a cumulative report of their results for Unit 3 and 4 in the week beginning August 12. This will be the last report that Year 12 students will receive from PBC as final exit level of achievement and results are determined by the QCAA. Students are again reminded that they must complete all assessment to receive a result in a subject; for instance, if a student does not complete an assignment/project they will not attain a result; this will also affect their QCE eligibility.
  • All Year 12 students will have shutdown exams in weeks 9 and 10 of this term to complete Mock External assessment and Applied subject assessment.

 Year 11

Year 11s will have their final Unit 2 assessment block in the last week of this term. This will be a full week of shutdown.

This is a busy time for these students and ensuring your student has appropriate time management skills and is prioritising school work will help students to maximise their results.
