Senior Boys Soccer - Premier League Win!

PBC defeated Chancellor College 4-1 in the Schools Premier League Grand Final. After going behind early the Reds gradually fought their way back into the game and equalised on half time with an Eli Gambley goal. The second half was an avalanche of Red as Luke Beckwith scored a double to add to a Hayden Anderson goal. Well done boys! Great result!

Rugby League - Michael Hancock Cup

The Year 9 Sports Excellence Rugby League team competed in the Michael Hancock Cup final against Coombabah High last Tuesday week in Brisbane. The Reds team won a thrilling contest 24-18.  We were down 12–0 after 15 minutes , but went to the break 12-6.  Soon after half time the boys were down 18-6 but then their fighting qualities kicked in. They clawed their way to get back to 18-all and a great conversion from the sideline took our team to a 20-18 lead, the first time they were in front throughout the game.  Another late try to the Reds to seal the win at 24-18.  It was a tough, gritty win by the Reds and the result was a great reward for the effort the boys have shown throughout the whole year. Throughout the year they have been positive, selfless and committed.  Qualities that are needed to win the big games.  It would be remiss of me not to mention that although I could only pick 17 for the Grand final, it was a whole squad effort and all have contributed to a thoroughly enjoyable year. I am very proud of this group and wish them well throughout their REDS journey !

Rugby League - Broncos Old Boys Gala Day

The Year 7 sports excellence rugby league group has performed at an extremely high level this year. At the annual Broncos Old Boys Gala Day the Reds progressed through their pool only losing one game and defeating red hot favourites Marsden in the semi final thanks to some magic in the dying stages from Jackson Cook. The boys from PBC faced Forest Lake in the Broncos Old Boys Grand Final where they unfortunately went down by 8 points. The Reds showed great fighting spirit and their coaches are extremely proud of their effort throughout the entire competition. Clearly a smaller side the Reds played with great skill moving the ball to the edges and threatening the Forest Lake side on many occasions. Even though the boys did not win the Grand Final they are the first Year 7 team to make the Old Boys Grand Final - a fantastic achievement!

PBC Reds make Tennis State Finals!

PBC took strong teams of both boys and girls to the Regional round held at GCA Tennis Club. PBC Girls came through a nervous final match against Miami School to clinch their spot and the boys were able to beat a strong team from Somerset College in their final match to progress to the State Finals which will be held in Rockhampton during Week 10. Congratualtions to all students involved and good luck in Rocky!!!
