24 PBC Students qualify for South Coast track and field team

A huge effort from the PBC Track and Field athletics to see 24 students selected to represent the South Coast at the upcoming Queensland State Championships in Brisbane early next term.

This is an amazing achievement by our students, and the highest ever number of qualifiers from PBC.

A special mention to Thewbelle Philp (Thewwy) – who smashed not only her 100m and 200m PB, but also the REGIONAL RECORDS. She is definitely on form and looking to medal at States and then Nationals next year.

PBC Touch Sports Excellence students Oceiana and Lacey played for Queensland in the recent National Schools 15yrs championships in Darwin. After going through the prelim rounds undefeated the team was unfortunately beaten in the final by New South Wales. Both girls played in the middle and had outstanding tournaments. Oceiana, the co-captain of the QLD team, was rewarded with selection in the Australian Schools Merit team at the conclusion of the carnival. Congratulations to these two wonderful ambassadors of the PBC Reds touch program.
