Coolangatta Beach witnessed an exhilarating clash of South East Queensland and Darling Downs academies as 12 teams battled it out for the prestigious title of the Year 8/9 and Year 10/11 Clontarf Beach Rugby Champions of 2023. This annual event not only showcased the remarkable sportsmanship, dedication and Clontarf Spirit of academy members but also celebrated the profound commitment of the Clontarf partners and the community. The coveted prize awaiting the victors was none other than a surfboard trophy, symbolizing their triumph on the sandy pitch. 

The competition itself was nothing short of thrilling, with fierce battles and breathtaking plays unfolding on the sun-drenched sand. In the end, the Dalby Academy emerged victorious in the Year 8/9 category, while the Warwick Academy claimed the title in the Year 10/11 division. Their hard-fought victories were not only a testament to their skill but also a testament to the dedication and teamwork that this event embodies. It was clear that this day was about much more than just beach rugby—it was a celebration of community, partnership, and the indomitable spirit of our academy members striving to become an all rounder good bloke on and off the field.
