School Based Youth Health Nurse

Year 8 Student Health Promotions 

The Year 8 health sessions presented by the School Based Youth Health Nurses will be held on the 31/8 and 7/9 during various core classes. 

The lesson objectives for the year 8 Health Promotion are as follows:  

Young people will gain knowledge to:   

1. Understand the definition of consent at an age-appropriate level and how red flags like pressure, manipulation and control can affect relationships and consent.  
2. Learn what boundaries are, how they are communicated and how they relate to consent 
3. Learn skills and strategies that will assist the young person to assertively communicate boundaries and consent 
4. Be able to identify where to seek help and advice around consent, communication and relationships.
