Year 8 Student Health Promotions
The Year 8 health sessions presented by the School Based Youth Health Nurses will be held on the 31/8 and 7/9 during various core classes.
The lesson objectives for the year 8 Health Promotion are as follows:
Young people will gain knowledge to:
- Understand the definition of consent at an age-appropriate level and how red flags like pressure, manipulation and control can affect relationships and consent.
- Learn what boundaries are, how they are communicated and how they relate to consent
- Learn skills and strategies that will assist the young person to assertively communicate boundaries and consent
- Be able to identify where to seek help and advice around consent, communication and relationships.
