Student Achievements
We encourage parents/caregivers to email your student’s excellent recent achievements to us. These achievements can be in The Arts, sporting, academic or community service. We would love to hear from you! Please email us at news@pbc-shs.eq.edu.au with details of your student’s achievement and include at least one photo, and/or any links to media articles that we can share.
Swimming Championships
Well done to Violet Walton and Tilly Grimson, who competed at the Australian School Sport National Swimming Championships in Sydney last week representing QLD. Violet, 15yr girls, scored 1st in 100 breaststroke, 4th in 200 breaststroke and 4th in 50 breaststroke. Tilly, 14yr girls, scored 3rd in 200 backstroke, 4th in 100 backstroke and 6th in 50 backstroke.
State Netball Championships
Yr7 PBC student Mikaylee recently competed at the Junior State Netball 2023 Championships held in Townsville. Mikaylee competed and won for Gold Coast Hinterland District Netball Association 13 Greens - winning the 13yo challenge division, with Mikaylee also scoring 3 awards - Coaches Player, the Player’s Player, and the MVP award. Way to go Mikaylee!!
Clay Target Shooting
Jag is a member of The Gold Coast Clay Target Club and participates in as many competitions as he can to improve his Skills and Grading in this chosen sport. His last commendable efforts were the weekend of the 27 July, at the Richmond River Gun Club, Lismore where he received prizes in C Grade for First Place 46/50 Continental Event, First Place 23/25 Double Barrel Event and Second Place 131/150 in 50 Double Barrel Points Score Event. He placed second after winning a ’shot off’ with another competitor on the same score. As a result of shooting consistently, Jag will now compete as a B Grade competitor in future events.
QLD Athletics State Relay Championships
Team Mc-Bush has done it again, taking Gold at the Qld Athletics State Relay Championships representing @pbcshs The three girls Sienna, Savannah & Maddie replicated last years efforts leading from start to finish in the 15G 3 x 3km Cross Country event.
