Class Clowns 2023

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Class Clowns Gold Coast workshop and regional heat was an excellent afternoon and evening. 7 students took part and did themselves and the school proud. They were up against students from Faith Lutheran College, St Martha's and a student from Byron Bay. Phoenix Oxenbridge Year 8, received a Wildcard place for the State Final in Brisbane at the Powerhouse. He participated in another workshop with a pro comic and the State final where he competed against kids from Cairns, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and now, Byron for a place in the National Final.

Phoenix went amazingly well and was invited to participate in another workshop at the Brunswick Picture House and perform in a show there. Unbeknownst to us, he was in the running for another state finals place - which he WON - flying to Sydney to do ANOTHER workshop and show at the Sydney Comedy Store. Phoenix made it through to the National Final of Class Clowns in Melbourne on 5 April at the Forum Theatre. Phoenix did another workshop and competed in front of 500 people for the grand title... in a 94 year old theatre! Amazing! Congratulations Phoenix!!

Senior Girls Football

Senior_Girls_1.jpg

Our Senior Girls Football team travelled to Brisbane late last term to play 2 games against Japan’s best footballing school and current national champions, Jyuumonji High School. This was a fantastic opportunity to test ourselves against the very best standard in Asia. PBC’s Senior Girls showcased their hard working, determined attitude to compete at a very high level and pressure Jyuumonji High School across both games. An unforgettable experience with valuable lessons to help drive our development this year.
