Senior Secondary Update

Year 10 and 12 Exam Shutdown commences Wednesday 29 March and runs for three days. For Year 10's this is the start of their senior secondary examination learning experience and allows them to practice and prepare for the exam periods that they will experience in Year 11 and 12.

It is the requirements for students to wear full school uniform, bring all relevant equipment and attend all scheduled exams. Students are also expected to enter and exit the school in a quiet and orderly manner as other year levels are continuing with the normal school day lesson structure. Year 10 and 12 Students are only required to attend school for their scheduled exams over the three days. Year 11 Students are reminded that their full classes continue until 3:00pm Friday with important new content being covered every lesson.

Please find the exam shutdown on the school website under curriculum and testing.  Good luck to all students in your exams and have safe and restful Easter holiday.

Head of Year 10- Leave for Term 2

We congratulate Mr Jarrod Wells current Head of Year 10 on his temporary appointment to Keebra Park State High School as Deputy Principal for Term 2. Mr Adam Brown will be acting as the Head of Year 10 for this time. Mr Brown comes to us with a number of years experience as a Head of House and we look forward to working with him more closely as part of the Senior Secondary team.

Year 12- TrackEd Profiles

All Year 12 ATAR students and their parents should have last week received the first TrackEd Profiles. These profiles detail for students their progress including numerical grades across all ATAR subjects. Knowing numerical grades is an important component in being able to accurately predict final outcomes and therefore make informed decisions around necessary improvements or interventions. Students have been actively encouraged to look at their predicted scores and start to engaged with QTAC around potential entry requirements for further studies next year should they wish to undertake them.

Assistance in this process of working on growth and planning for the future has been offered to all of these students through the senior secondary office should they be seeking further support.

Wellbeing around Exam Time

Senior Secondary can be a busy, stressful and exciting time for students and parents. It’s important to help students look after their mental health and wellbeing during this time to help minimise stress and maximise achievements. With this in mind resources have been developed to support student wellbeing.
