The Wellbeing Team Update
Junior Wellbeing Team
Palm Beach Currumbin State High has several staff working with students in Years 7, 8 and 9.
This includes the Head of Year and Guidance Officer who may refer your child onto the Chaplain, Social Worker or other specialist staff who work on campus with our students.
If you have any concerns, it is best to contact the Head of Year (HOY) in the first instance about school procedural and peer interaction issues. For matters relating to personal support, counselling, undiagnosed learning difficulties and career discussions, please contact the Guidance Officer.
If you are taking your adolescent to a Specialist doctor such as a paediatrician or psychiatrist, please inform the Guidance Officer. If the paediatrician or psychologist needs to do tests or surveys to form (or rule out) a diagnosis, please inform the Guidance Officer. The Junior Secondary Inclusion Coordinator (Sally Taylor) is also a wealth of information for students who may have a Learning Difficulty but are not yet formally diagnosed. Examples of conditions that impact students at school would be: ADHD, Dyslexia, Auditory Processing Disorder etc.
Thank you for supporting your child in their education,
Guidance Officers Sue & Rebecca for Anna Willis who will be returning to PBC on Monday 6 March.
